Disney India makes changes to key strategic roles to drive its growth

The Walt Disney Company India has created three strategic leadership roles backing its commitment to facilitate the growth of brand Disney in India.

Roshni Bakshi has been elevated to the role of Vice President - Consumer Products, Publishing and Retail to leverage the retail business of the Company, which has become an integral part of Disney. Bakshi would be responsible for Disney's retail interests and expanding its footprint in this new position.

Continuing with her association with Disney for over four years, Bakshi continues to be responsible for creating and executing strategy for both the consumer products and publishing businesses, in addition to retail.

In order to match up with the need of the local content, Swati Shetty has been promoted to Executive Director, Theatrical Productions and Acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India). As her mandate Shetty will be responsible for creative and production efforts and managing talent relationships for local projects for the Studios business of the Company. Over the past five years, Ms. Shetty has played key roles including advertising sales and content syndication.

Also, Vijay Subramaniam has been promoted to the capacity of Executive Director, Disney India Media Solutions and Alliances (DIMSA). He will be responsible for identifying commercial opportunities across all the Disney businesses (including TV, Studios, Merchandising, Publishing, Mobile, Internet and Live Events) in India to better align the advertisers and brand partners for The Walt Disney Company (India).

This is the second time when Mobile Conversations will be held in New Delhi. It was first organised in the Capital in 2008.

The New Delhi edition will be held on May 28 at ITC Sheraton, Saket. It will focus on the role mobile can play in the media mix and highlight the immense potential of the medium for a creative and effective marketing campaign for any brand.

The conference will have four sessions related to topics such as usage of mobile marketing by brands, mobile as a lead medium and creative possibilities of mobile media. Case studies on mobile marketing will also be showcased during the seminar.

Mobile Conversations will bring together industry leaders from advertising, marketing and telecom domains on a single platform. Some of the prominent speakers at the conference are Lloyd Mathias, chief marketing officer, Tata Teleservices; Gaurav Gupta, director, marketing and product development, General Motors (India); Sandeep Vij, chief knowledge officer, Mudra Group and chief executive officer, DDB Mudra Group; Ravi Kiran, chief executive officer, South Asia and emerging market leader, specialist solutions, Starcom MediaVest Group; Prathap Suthan, national creative director, Cheil Worldwide (India); Premjeet Sodhi, president, The Collaborative; Vijay S Sharma, founder and managing director, One97, a mobile VAS firm; and Kushal Sanghvi, executive director, business development, media and alliances, StratosHear Tech (a mobile VAS firm).
